ENOUGH! ENOUGH! ENOUGH: A POEM BY ME.

I don't want to revisit the lanes of misery. 
And rekindle my unpleasant memory. 
Only to lose my self-esteem and freedom. 
And go back to live in Devil's Kingdom. 


Suppressing women in the name of tradition, 
The patriarchal society lives in hallucination. 
Women are humans too and not the objects of lust. 
Don't treat them like a speck of dust. 

Now I am free from the bondage of slavery. 
Somehow I have managed to show some bravery. 
I urge my sisters never to compromise on their lives. 
They are not merely daughters-in-law, mothers and housewives. 


Let's rise and shine to reach the endless sky. 
And stop responding to questions, how, who, what and why. 
Let's put forth the same questions to those gentlemen. 
Who believe in trampling the happiness of women. 

Ignore the voices of hypocrisy. 
And discourage the misogynists living in fantasy. 
I request those wives who torture their spouses. 
Stop demanding for expensive necklaces and houses. 

Lucky is the woman whose husband truly loves her. 
But she keeps on inflicting mental torture, 
It's better to walk out from an abusive marriage. 
Rather than tolerating each other's verbal garbage.

  4. I’m so impressed that you made this go both ways ~ reminding both the men and then the women also that decency to one another is the way to go and to grow! Usually, people just write about one or the other…

    It’s important, because it’s clear that the only way we’re going to keep this world functioning at this point is by reaching out to one another from the “opposite” sides of issues ~ people who can clearly state and bring together constructively both sides at the same time are those whose voices are most valuable now. Brava!
