SHARQIYA DESERT

Hi Friends,

I have been meaning to post about my adventurous trip to Sharqiyah Desert with family.

It was a memorable day for me. We went to Ibrah on 22nd April, 2023, which is approximately 170 kms from Muscat and took us nearly two hours. We started at 2.30 PM and reached Ibrah at 4.30 PM. These are some of the pics that I clicked during my journey.

And now without any further delay, let me show you the gorgeous Sand dunes at Sharqiyah.

It was an amazing experience. Can you believe it? It was raining suddenly and ‘we saw flashes of lightning. We had a wonderful time exploring the desert and went for an overnight stay at my brother’s colleague’s house. They are soooo hospitable and lovely. We had a grand feast for dinner and a king like breakfast the next day too.

I have to admit that Omani people are very friendly and hospitable. If you visit Oman, do try Laban ( buttermilk) in different flavors. It’s awesome.
