ENGLISH IS WEIRD

A FUNNY POEM BY ME.

Mixing up tenses is really bad.
I get confused and totally mad.
English throws a googly ball.
Be careful while using it or you will fall.

The past tense of hide is hid not hided.
But the past tense of provide is not provid but provided.
Sometimes, the genders too, face interchange.
And when he becomes she, I find it strange.

People rack their brains over what to choose?
Between the words, lose, and loose.
As if it wasn't enough to confuse.
'At' 'in' and 'on' face gross misuse.

My dear English, are you related to Mathematics?
How come we find Alphabets with numbers? Stop playing tricks.
Your words and sentences transport us to a world of imagination.
Since childhood, you have been my fascination.

Spellings can cause maximum confusion.
Do tell me, O scholars, is there any solution?
English is famous for breaking its own rules.
It puzzles everyone, scholars and fools.

Dictionary and a Grammar book are our basic tools.
And must be a part of the offices, colleges and schools.
English is for everyone.
Learning English can be fun.
