This is the fifth book in the Crystal Beach Paranormal Cozy mystery series by Author Karen McSpade.

In the previous book, Sidney discovers a flash drive that contains the secret behind Ben Chalmers’s death and wants to save her mother from Sam Barlow’s magic. There’s a twist in the tale when one of the suspects, Eduardo Fitch, is found dead in the prison while officer Jessie is found unconscious.

The story continues as Sidney’s familiar Mojo talks to her and she gets some visions of Ben’s parents’ last moments. She wonders if Ben’s and his parents’ death are interlinked. She can’t forget Judd’s hiding an envelope from Ernie. As The Ben Chalmers & Eduardo Fitch Mini-Golf Invitational reaches the grand finale, the stakes are high. Sidney is the bait to flush out the murderer, as Officer Reece has sent a message from Ben’s phone demanding blackmail money in exchange for the flash drive. Will their plan succeed? Or would the murderer get away by killing Sidney? Would Sidney be able to save het mother from Sam Barlow’s magical charm?

I would congratulate Karen for writing a marvelous, highly entertaining paranormal cozy mystery and would love to see more books in this series. Sidney and her grandma, Ada Mae are the most adorable characters. Grab this book if you are eager to find the identity of the murderer. This book will be available on Amazon on February 28, 2023.
