This book had me completely gripped and enthralled. The story and the narrative is soooo good that you are compelled to read further and it’s nearly impossible to put down the book. Awesome, fabulous paranormal cozy mystery. The concept of an unsolved 100 year old mysterious death plus another one, is what attracted me towards this book. I have added Get up and ghost to my list of favorite books.

I straightaway got hooked on to this super paranormal cozy thriller. It begins with a creepy description of Agnes Hamilton’s dead body hanging from the ceiling rafter of the two-story foyer of her home in her traditional wedding dress after her fiance, Josiah Dilts, dumps her for another woman. Chantilly Adair, The Director of Historical Society of Castleberry, Georgia, is going through a document pertaining to the supposedly Haunted Hamilton House in Delphina Beauregard’s ( Del’s) cafe. She also has a humorous conversation with Thelma Sayers, Del’s good friend.

Chantilly is one of the judges of The BBQ competition and is scheduled to meet the participants in the Hamilton House. Olivia Castleberry, her assistant, introduces her to the participants, one of whom, is her high school mate, Bobby Joe Pruitt. Bobby is a short tempered fellow who runs a restaurant in the haunted Hamilton House. When Chantilly meets the other participants in the Hamilton House, Bobby lashes out at other contestants, Jesse and Julia Lye, and Rashid Patel. It’s then that Chantilly begins to experience the phantom visions. She’s able to see the ghost of Agnes replaying the moment of her death. Her ghost gives her visions to prove that she was murdered and not committed suicide.

And then Bobby Pruitt is discovered murdered the next day by Chantilly and has another vision of the 100 year old murder. Chantilly is also one of the suspects as she was the last one to see Bobby alive and argue with him. Her reputation is at risk as her old school nemesis Lonna Appleton wants to deliberately frame her for the murder she didn’t commit. Who are the suspects? How did Bobby die?

To find out Chantilly’s fate as a new psychic, definitely grab this book. It’s a complete entertainer with a fair share of thrill, fun, humor, awesome twists and turns. Full 10/10.
