POETIC THURSDAYS (56)

REAL PAIN : A POEM BY ME.

I thought my grief was the greatest until
I saw a father visiting his only child's grave.
A widow of a newlywed martyred soldier trying to be brave.
It hurts when your children desert you when you are old.
And poverty-stricken people on the streets suffering from hunger and cold.

Who can measure the pain of a child with a learning disability?
He has to face the humiliation from his parents and his school's hostility.
Being naive is considered to be an act of stupidity.
Why do people tend to forget civility?

I shed tears when I read about the children in the orphanage.
Getting rejected by your parents hurts more than losing them at an early age.
Physical pain is nothing compared to the mental agony.
Why should we spew out venom from our mouths rather than living in peace and harmony?

Hatching conspiracy to create obstacles in the path of progress of the other.
Is the worst thing humans can do to one another.
Discouraging words, pessimism, ego and jealousy.
Inflict the worst kind of pain and torture to leave behind a hateful legacy.

We should realize that there are people suffering a fate worse than ours.
Their painful screams are often unheard : for years, months, weeks, days, or hours.
Problems are just like the hurdles in a race.
Let's be more sportive by putting on a brave face.

Let's use our common sense, to avoid judging others by their physical appearance.
Let's not hurt anyone by passing comments, advice, or unnecessary interference.
Life is too short to hold a grudge against anyone.
Let's bury the hatchet to be friends, and together we shall have fun.
