SUNDAY SURPRISE (54)

WHY I LOVE BOOKS?: A POEM BY ME.

I am lost in the magical world of Hogwarts,
Learning witchcraft and wizardry with Harry, Hermione and Ron.
Then, lo, behold! The scene changes and all the lovable characters are gone.
After playing their respective parts.

Whenever I open a book to read,
I imagine myself as a part of the story.
Visiting a palatial mansion and appreciating its glory.
I get irked by the horrific tales of human greed.

I remember reading Enid Blyton's Famous Five.
All the characters were dear to me.
Be it Julian, Dick, Anne or George and my adorable Timothy.
I wish those characters were indeed alive.

Nancy Drew had her own charm.
She had two best friends in George and Bess.
To help her out of any mess,
And protect her from any harm.

Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!
The geniuses behind two world class detectives.
The observational and deduction skills of Hercules Poirot and Sherlock Holmes were highly effective.
I salute their writing style.

There are so many authors whom I adore,
Kelly Utt, C T Mitchell, Amber Crewes, Anne Shillolo and many more.
Skye Sullivan and Amy Boyles have me engrossed in their magical books.
Yes, I am crazy for them, irrespective of their cover designs or looks.

Thank you so much for taking your precious time to visit my website. Hope you enjoyed reading my blogs. 😊😊
