GRAND WELCOME TO VIGNAHARTA GANESH (THE ELEPHANT HEADED GOD AND THE REMOVER OF OBSTACLES)
Hello friends.
Wishing you all a Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. He is the Remover of Obstacles and A God of Great Wisdom, Knowledge, and Intelligence. We always worship Him first before undertaking any auspicious activity like buying a property, commencing a business, marriage, various religious festivals and before worshipping other deities.

There’s an interesting tale behind Ganesha getting the boon of being worshipped before other Gods and Goddesses
How Ganesha was born.

Goddess Parvati, the consort of Lord Shiva, often faced a difficulty. She wanted a bodyguard to prevent any unauthorised, unannounced entry while She took a bath. She smeared her body with Sandal paste and removed the excess paste to create a young boy with immense strength. She gave Him life and called Him Ganesh. He was given the most important task of guarding Her and not letting anyone in without Her Permission. He bowed reverentially to His mother and took His job seriously. Lord Shiva’s humble devotee and trusted servant, Nandi, tried to enter Her abode but Ganesh stood firm and forced him to go back. Angered with the response, Nandi went to complain to Lord Indra, the King of Gods. But Ganesh defeated him in a fierce battle. Even Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu were defeated. They sought help from Lord Shiva. He didn’t know that He was fighting against His Own Son. Likewise, Ganesh had no idea that He was fighting against His father. Lord Shiva severed Ganesh’s head with His Trident.
Hearing the commotion, Goddess Parvati came out and was shocked to find her beloved Son beheaded and lying dead. She cried and moaned the loss of Her son and chided Her Husband for taking a hasty decision, Ganesh was only doing His duty and guarding Her. She took a ferocious form to destroy the Universe and The rest of the deities implored Lord Shiva to save the world from destruction.
Lord Shiva sent Nandi to get the head of the first creature he saw on his way in the North Direction. Nandi saw an elephant and as per Lord Shiva’s instructions, severed its head. Lord Shiva fixed the Elephant head on the body of Ganesh. But Devi Parvati was upset that Ganesh looked abnormal. It was then that Lord Shiva and other Gods gave boons to Ganesh that He would be the Remover of Obstacles and lead Shiva’s Ganas Or followers and also be called Ganpati. He would be the Harbinger of happiness and the most Auspicious God who would be the First to be worshipped for the success of any venture.
Believe it or not, but Lord Ganesh and Goddess Saraswati have been very kind to me and have enabled me to take up writing. Jai Shri Ganesh!
Ganpati Bappa Morya! Ganesh festival was started by Lokmaanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Pune in 1893 to create unity among people.
This festival is celebrated with great pomp and splendor in Maharashtra for ten days. Great pandals are set up in almost every location and huge idols of Lord Ganesh are installed. Every day, people perform pooja and offer delicacies, especially, modaks a type of sweet and laddus. On the tenth day, people bid adieu to Lord Ganesh by immersing His idols in rivers, lakes and ponds. It’s believed that Lord Ganesh rejoins His Parents in Mount Kailash through the sea route.

O, Lord Ganesh!
Please bless us with knowledge and wisdom.
Please give us a tongue that always speaks sweet and never hurt anyone, intentionally or unintentionally.
Please save us from our Inner demons and let us seek refuge in Your Kind feet.
Please remove all the obstacles in our lives and a great memory that always remembers You , even when we are sad Or happy.
Here’s a special offering to You, Laddus and Modaks.
