HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY GLORY BE TO MOTHER INDIA.

A POETIC TRIBUTE BY ME.

Invaded by the Mughals, The Portuguese, The Dutch, The French and the British.

Imprisoned in the bonds of slavery.

Mother India was plundered, looted, and ruined at every step.

Yet, there was no dearth of bravery.

Mangal Pandey laid the foundation for the freedom struggle through the Sepoy Mutiny.

A revolution that ignited the light of rebellion
to overthrow the rule of despotism and tyranny.

Mahatma Gandhi, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and Sardar Patel shaped India's destiny.

Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi, Begum Hazrat Mahal, Rani Velu Nachiyar gave the British many a sleepless nights.

Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azaad, Rajguru paved the way for the imperialists' upcoming flight.

Who can forget the massacre at Jalianwala Bagh where thousands of patriots lost their lives?

Some shedding tears over their children, some over their husbands and wives.

The struggle wasn't only for freedom but also from the crimes against humanity.

To teach the perpetrators of these heinous crimes and to curb their insanity.

She might have been injured for centuries together.

Yet, She holds grudge against anyone never.

She still holds her head high.

Mother India's glory now reaches the sky.

The birthplace of civilization,

She is my inspiration.

India is the symbol of love and peace.

I am proud to be India's daughter. May Her fame keep growing overseas.

Mother India is the living example of unity in diversity.

Forgiveness makes Her a Unique Entity.

Rabindranath Tagore, Sir C.V. Raman, Amartya Sen, and Mother Teresa made India proud.

I pledge my loyalty to and serve Mother India,
I would declare this anytime aloud.

Jai Hind! Vande Mataram.

My dear countrymen ( fellow citizens of the country).

Fill your eyes with tears.

Do remember the sacrifice of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.

You should never forget them.

That’s why I am narrating this story.

When Himalaya was wounded,

Our freedom was at peril,

Our soldiers fought until their last breath.

Then, laid down as corpses.

Some were Sikhs, Some Jats, Some Marathas

Some Gurkhas, Some Madrasi,

Every one who died was a brave Indian Citizen.

The blood stream that gushed through the mountains belonged to the Indians.

My dear countrymen ( fellow citizens of the country).

Fill your eyes with tears.

Do remember the sacrifice of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.
