Amy Boyles is an amazing author of Paranormal cozies. I have already read her series ‘Sweet Tea Witches’ series featuring Pepper Dunn and her cousins, Amelia and Cordelia. She certainly knows how to keep her readers well entertained and thoroughly engrossed to her magical books. Her books are cute, charming, very interesting, offering plenty of twists and turns and humorous. This series is about Dylan Apel, her sisters, Sera and Reid who find themselves in awkward situation. Sera and Dylan have magical powers as they are witches but Reid is devoid of any power despite being born in a family of powerful witches. Dylan has tremendous magical powers that makes other witches wanting to steal her magic and get rid of her. Do read Dylan and her sisters magical adventures. All the books in this series are fabulous.

Book 1

SCARED WITCHLESS

Dylan Apel owns a fashion store, Perfect Fit, while her sister, Sera, has a confectionery store, Sinless Confections. Dylan’s school acquaintance, Reagan Eckhart, arrives at her store to see the wedding dress that she had tailor made. As usual, she starts suggesting improvement in the dress. As soon as she leaves, another customer makes an entry and tries on her dress. She loves it but makes a weird statement about Dylan stirring a trouble. Her words turn out to be true when Reagan tries on a dress that Dylan had designed for herself and ends up dead, with her skin actually burnt. The strange woman turns up again and tells Dylan, Sera and Reid that they are witches. Dylan and her sisters were raised by their grandma Hazel who’s frozen for many years and been taken care of by her bodyguard, Nan, whom they are quite fond of. Dylan is in double danger.

First, she’s a suspect in Reagan’s murder and secondly, someone wants her dead and strip off her powers. Enter the handsome, mysterious, Roman Bane, wanted by the witch police, for the murder of a witch, Misty Evers, who had killed the love of his life, Sheila. Watch out for the super thrill that’s in store for you. One of the most exciting paranormal cozies.

Book 2.

KISS MY WITCH

Grandma Hazel, Sera, Dylan and Reid are enjoying a picnic where they have to bear with mosquito bites. Grandma suggests Dylan to freeze the mosquitoes with her magic but her magic backfires and she conjures a swarm of mosquitoes. Queen of witches, Em, catches whiff of the magic done in front of non magical folks and tells Dylan that she has a chance to escape from having problems from the witch council, provided, she agreed to meet other witches at Balmore House.

Trouble seems to find Dylan when Loretta Umi one of the twins, dies after eating a cheesecake meant for Dylan. Was it originally meant for Dylan? Sumi, her sister, is scared and points out her suspicion to Stormy Hellsmount who had written spiteful letters to Loretta. Margaret Duncan, their aunt, wants to tell Dylan something but she dies before she could reveal her secret. There’s another mystery within the story that deals with the death of a unicorn and Dylan and Roman, her would be boyfriend, get magically transported near Fairy Land. Are these cases interlinked? There are awesome, splendid twists that I never saw coming. This is truly a magical one. Excellent book.

Book 3

QUEEN WITCH

Dylan and her family are summoned to participate in the Queen Witch Election, to be held at Castle Witch. Em is the candidate and her rival is Gertrude Boxbigger, who offers to get back a part of land given to the fairies. Brock, the Monkey King, has a spat with her. Dylan and Sera instantly hate her but Gertrude forces them to make her dress and cook delicacies before the voting takes place.

Dylan and her family are shocked to learn that Gertrude is the new Queen. Unfortunately, she chews a gum and blows a bubble that bursts and suffocates her. She turns up dead. Her nasty cousin, Queen of the North, Helga de Plume, gives her an ultimatum to solve the case in three days or she would skin Dylan, the newly appointed interim queen, alive to steal her powers. Would Dylan survive this ordeal? Catch up with Dylan’s exciting adventures with her family and Roman Bane. I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the books in this series. Amy Boyles is now one of my favorite authors of paranormal cozies.
