I dedicate this poem as a tribute to Mother Earth on the occasion of EARTH DAY.

Mother Earth
I thank you, Mother Earth, for supporting all forms of life.
You tolerate our misdeeds with a smile while we are busy with the knife.
I thank you, Mother Earth, for enabling us to live.
We have hurt you in many ways; Yet, you always forgive.
You are the reason for our existence.
But we continue to tread on the path of self-destruction through persistence.
How can we claim to be the most intelligent creatures?
We should be ashamed of our destructive nature.
The pandemic has taught us a valuable lesson.
Because of our mistakes, we are in home prison.
We are now reaping the fruits of our actions.
We should preserve wildlife as they are major tourist attractions.
I thank you, Mother Earth, for your selfless love.
We should shun violence and be messengers of peace like a dove.
