POETIC THURSDAYS (11)

IMPRISONMENT: A POEM BY ME

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio on Pexels.com
Imprisoned in the cell of monotony,
I seek freedom to be myself.
I want to live in peace and harmony.
In the lap of Mother Nature, reading about a fairy or an elf.

I wish to laugh heartily, leaving my worries behind.
And no one to criticize my every move.
A friendly chat with someone, I wouldn't mind.
Someplace where I could sing and groove.

I could enjoy the sweet music of the birds and the stream.
And watch the clouds gently float.
I wish to relax under the shade of a tree enjoying ice cream.
As I appreciate the earth's green coat.

I feel imprisoned in the cell of unwanted thoughts and emotions.
I want to break free from negativity.
I want to look at everything with a positive notion.
And bury my anger, ego, and jealousy.

We all are prisoners of comparison.
And compete with each other for position, money, and fame.
We mustn't forget we all are here for a reason.
All are the players in life's game.
