GRACE’S WITCHY ADVENTURES : A PARANORMAL THRILLER BY ME.

The Story so far:

Grace Royce accompanies her best friend and colleague, Sharmila Gupta’s wedding in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, India. When Sharmila shows her fiance’s photo, Grace is shocked because she has frequently seen him in her dreams forcing an innocent girl to suicide.

She saves Sharmila from marrying a criminal after nabbing him and his friends in a shameful act of trying to hang an innocent girl.

Grace has recurring dreams of Sharmila attempting suicide when the friends are holidaying in Dehradun. Her fear is about to materialize after their trip. Grace skilfully revisits the past and alters everybody’s memories to stop the wagging tongues of people from hurting Sharmila. She thwarts the attempt of a mad scientist X, in Australia, who is watching the proceedings, to kill Sharmila.

He stages small accidents which Grace is unable to prevent. Finally, he is able to cause a hit and run accident leading to Sharmila’s death. Grace is mourning the loss of her good friend while blaming herself for failing to protect her. She has a strange dream at night, where she finds herself in her bedroom in Australia. Her dead parents appear before her and they take her into the alternative future time zone, had Sharmila lived. Whatever she witnesses is awfully shocking to her.

She sees the evil side of Sharmila abusing her friendship and taking advantage of her. She is horrified to see her best friend kidnapping and sacrificing her with the help of a mysterious stranger. She comes back to her room with her parents and Sharmila’s soul pays her a visit. She explains how she was cursed by her grandma after she accidentally killed her grandfather who was bedridden with cancer. When she clarified that it was just an accident, her grandma realized her folly and offered a choice to die young before the curse could materialize or live a long cursed life. She had chosen the former. Sharmila warns her to be careful.

Grace decides to investigate Sharmila’s death and views the CCTV footage that shows the car which ran her over. She finds that it belonged to Vinod Mohan, Vivek’s ( Sharmila’s former fiance) younger brother. She approaches the police and hands them the evidence. Vinod claims of innocence and says that he had lent his vehicle to a friend who reported it missing. Grace is frustrated and prays to Sharmila for guidance.

CHAPTER 6

A Conspiracy.

Grace tossed in her bed that night. She had a vision. She saw that she was attending Sharmila’s engagement party. Vivek had his arm wrapped around her shoulders while Sharmila greeted everyone with a smile. Grace presented her with a pair of gold earrings. She noticed a strange bracelet around her wrist. She was surprised to find that Vivek was also wearing the same bracelet on his left wrist. It was a copper bracelet with grotesque figures embossed in it.

Grace woke up suddenly and checked the time on the wall clock. It was 3 AM. She couldn’t disturb Sharmila’s parents now. She went back to sleep after muttering a quick thanks to Sharmila. The next day, she approached Sharmila’s mother and asked her about Sharmila’s strange bracelet. Her mother handed it over to her. Grace took the bracelet and sat down on the couch. She examined the intricate patterns and looked at the horrible figures. She noticed a slight bulge in the middle and pried it open. A mini microchip landed on her palm. She took a piece of paper and wrapped the microchip in it.

Meanwhile, X had an instant alert on his smartwatch. Someone had tampered with Sharmila’s bracelet. X appeared to be terrified. How could this happen to him? Who would have thought of checking an ordinary bracelet? X had inserted microchips in them before giving the bracelets as a present to Vivek and Sharmila. He had controlled their actions and destiny until now. He could not afford to be complacent. He couldn’t get caught now. He had to get rid of Vivek.

Grace decided to visit Vivek and try to obtain information from him. She started towards the prison after having lunch. She was shocked to find an ambulance outside the prison. ” Oh, no! “she exclaimed, ” It looks like a prisoner might be sick or dead.”

She met the jail superintendent, M. K. Malik, and requested to meet Vivek Mohan. Malik shook his head sadly and replied, ” You are too late, Ma’am. Vivek committed suicide around an hour ago. I am sorry to disappoint you.”

Grace looked dejected. She had not anticipated this development. Why did Vivek end his life? Was he aware of Grace’s upcoming visit? Who told him about her plan? Grace cursed her bad luck. Had she exhausted her witchy powers? Grace came back after another disappointing day. Vivek’s untimely suicide proved his involvement in Sharmila’s murder. How could he arrange for her death from the jail? She had a sudden thought. She had seen both Vivek and Sharmila wearing the bracelets in Australia. The culprit must be an acquaintance common to both of them.

Grace was excited about her theory. She realized that she was moving in the right direction. She decided to test her magical powers that night. She locked herself in a room and chanted a prayer for time traveling.

Suddenly she found herself outside a prison. No one seemed to notice her. She went inside and checked the cell number of Vivek. As she was invisible, she roamed freely and reached Vivek’s cell. She saw him speaking to himself. She thought he had lost his marbles when she noticed an earphone on his right ear. A corrupt jail official might have supplied him with a mobile. Grace could not overhear the conversation as Vivek simply listened to his boss. She realized that the culprit was in Australia, giving instructions to his puppets in India. She had to figure out who he was and what was his animosity towards Sharmila? She came back to the present with a snap of her fingers. She was relieved to know that her powers still worked.
