HOLI : A POEM

आओ मिलकर खेलें होली |
चलो बिखेरे खुशियों के रंग |
भूल जाऐं तलवार और बंदूक की गोली |
मनायें यह त्यौहार एक दूसरे के संग |
जलायें होलिका दहन में ईर्ष्या और अहंकार |
और बुझायें इस नफरत की आग को |
भूलकर आपसी दुश्मनी, करें एक दूसरे से प्यार |
ताकि कोई युद्ध ना हो |
जिंदगी अपनी रंगीन और हसीन बनायें |
करें एक दूसरे के गिले शिकवे माफ़ |
आऔ झूमें, नाचें, गाऐं |
अपने दिलों से करें मनमुटाव साफ़!
आऔ लगाऐं हम सबको गुलाल प्यार का |
लाऐं किसी के जीवन में हरियाली |
रंग लगायें नीले आसमान का |
चारों ओर फैले खुशहाली |

This poem translates to :

Let's play Holi together
Let's spread the colors of happiness
Forget the sword and the shot of the gun.
Celebrate this festival with each other.
Burn jealousy and ego in Holika Dahan.
And extinguish the fire of this hatred.
Forget mutual enmity, love each other.
so that there is no war.
Make your life colorful and beautiful.
Forgive each other's grievances.
Come, dance, sing.
Let's clear all the bickering and misunderstanding. 
Let's apply with love the gulal ( a red powder). 
And greenery of prosperity in someone's life. 
Let's smear each other with the color of the blue sky. 
Let there be happiness all around.
