EXAMINATION

A FUNNY POEM BY ME

Beware! Beware! The school examinations are near.
More than the students their parents fear.
Will their children flunk or pass?
Will they be the toppers of their class?
The parents also get into the learning mode.
Like me, I am trying to crack the mathematics code.
Mathematics also has given me a great scare.
I would often pull out my hair.
My daughter tries solving the problems and equations.
I can understand her frustrations.
Social science deals with civics, geography, and history.
Who? When? Why? Where? What? These remain a mystery.
Reading History makes me sleep.
Geography also makes me weep.
There are so many places to explore.
Instead, I am just engaged in a household chore.
Reading Civics ( Political science) gives me creep.
Who won the elections with a clean sweep?
Science and computer science are out of my reach.
These are the subjects that my daughter likes to teach.
I listen with pride as she explains the scientific principles and laws.
I remember my little experiments with candles and straws.
Languages are difficult to score.
But my sweet girl wants to score more.
It’s her enthusiasm and dedication that I admire.
Her eyes twinkle with a spark of brilliant fire.
To conquer the archenemy called the examination.
To emerge as a victor through hard work and determination.
